Veteran secular artist Refigah of Grandpa Records today launched his inaugural Grandpa Supercup in conjunction with betting firm Betika at Laini Saba in Kibra Constituency, Nairobi County.
The event was graced by CAS Sports and Culture Zack Kinuthia alongside Ghetto Radio Managing Director Majimaji Julius Owino among others.
The tournament is expected to run for three months with the aim of nurturing sports talent among youths to reach global level in completion.
Zack Kinuthia promised youths that the government will build a modern pitch to facilitate sporting activities in Kibra
“We are giving the youth an opportunity to showcase their talents. We want them to play in East Africa and the whole world,” said Kinuthia.
“I also promise to lobby and have this ground refurbished to very good standards. We also want you guys to produce an Olunga from this ground,” he said.

Majimaji on his side promised the youths that he will use his media platform to showcase the sports talent in Kibra.
The winning team in the tournament will bag Ksh. 1 Million.
“Refigah is a friend, we started together way back in music. We will give this team a 100 precent support. Our news team as well as all the Ghetto Radio presenters will highlight this tournament on their various shows and news bulletins,” said Majimaji.
