Several board members of Kenya Power have been kicked out in changes that have seen President William Ruto’s allies elected to director positions.

In changes announced during the power distributor’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Friday, seven new directors have been appointed.

They are:

Veska Kangogo

Duncan Ojwang

Albert Njagi

Logan Hambrick

Joy Brenda Masinde

Energy PS Andrew Kamau

Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung’u

Kangogo, a former CEC in Nairobi county government, unsuccessfully sought the UDA ticket to run for Uasin Gishu governor.

Ojwang was part of President Ruto’s presidential election petition team.

Masinde is a lawyer and political analyst and is the daughter of Bishop JB Masinde.

The previous board members, who were seeking re-election, include: Aaron Ringera, Sarah Mbwaya and James Gitiba.

Board members who were retained are Kairo Thuo and Humphrey Muhu by virtue of being members of the Board Audit Committee and will continue to serve there.
