Bandari FC returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Bidco United during Saturday’s FKF Premier League clash at the Mbaraki Grounds in Mombasa.

Umaru Kasumba and Hassan Abdallah scored either half of the match as the Coastal-based outfit collected their third win in four games to go ninth on the standings.

At the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Gor Mahia FC edged Police FC 2-1 thanks to Benson Omalla’s winner as the record champions opened a two-point gap at the summit of the league.

Police had opened the scoring inside 12 minutes but his effort was quickly erased when Dennis Nyaga struck seven minutes later.

The league’s leading goal-scorer Omalla was again decisive with his sixth strike in the last five matches. During that run he has scored in all but one game.

Nzoia Sugar failed to keep pace with the league leaders as they drop points for the second straight game with a barren stalemate away at FC Talanta.

In Mombasa, the home side started the game pretty well with their striking force fighting for spaces to get their first goal.

In the eighth minute Kasumba drew first blood after connecting a well taken cross from Mohammed Siraj.

Siraj should have found the back of the net moments later with a 40-yard effort that went just millimeters over the bar.

 

Bandari squandered a golden opportunity to double their advantage with Demi Keagan failing to hit the target from close range after poor handling from the Bidco goalkeeper Daniel Odiwuor had set him up.

The Dockers led 1-0 at halftime and quickly went 2-0 up after the restart through Abdallah after another handling error from Odiwuor.

Bidco introduced Said Tsuma, Juma Alex and Ezekiel Okare to atleast to try and salvage a point.

The away team continued to press for a goal and 8 minutes to stoppage time Alex Juma shot was saved by Bandari captain and goalkeeper Michael Wanyika.

Two Minutes later Juma was in Bandari danger zone again heading a well taken coner kick that hit top bar and finally saved by Brian Odera.

On stoppage time Bandari striker Felix Oluoch effort was calmly saved by Bidco keeper Daniel Odiwuor.
