Meru University of Science and Technology and Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to partner in research on climate change.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Meru University Vice Chancellor Prof Romanus Odhiambo, urged government institutions to unite with Non-Governmental Organizations to address climate change.

Prof Odhiambo says institutions of higher learning have the capacity to research and advise the government on mitigation measures that would address climate change but lack of funding and government support stand in the way.

On his part, PACJA Executive Director Dr. Mwenda Mithika says sensitization of communities on climate change and how to conserve the environment is the only way to win this fight.
