The institution will offer free training delivered by instructors with a focus on re-insurance and direct insurance products.

“Continuous training is essential for the sustainable growth and development of players across the industry,” the Company’s Managing Director Hillary Maina said.

“The Academy is a key initiative in bridging some of the skills gap in the sector,” Maina added.

The re-insurer adds that the country has seen an upsurge in a younger workforce with inadequate experience and knowledge in the re-insurance realm.

Part of the training mandate is to fill the knowledge gap in areas of cyber security, climate change, data analytics, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
