Cabinet Secretary for Education Beatrice Askul Moe officially opened the 2nd East Africa Community Regional Education Conference on behalf of President William Ruto, bringing together education stakeholders from across the region to deliberate on the future of education in East Africa.
The conference provides a platform for policymakers, educators, researchers and other stakeholders from EAC partner states to share experiences, discuss emerging challenges and explore innovative approaches to improving education and skills development.
Representing President Ruto, CS Askul Moe underscored the importance of regional cooperation in strengthening education systems and preparing young people for a rapidly changing world.
She highlighted the need for EAC member states to work together in addressing common challenges, including access to quality education, skills development, technology integration and ensuring that learners are equipped with the competencies required by modern economies.
The conference is expected to strengthen collaboration among education stakeholders and promote the sharing of best practices across the East African region.
As the region continues to pursue greater integration, participants are expected to use the conference to develop practical strategies that will contribute to inclusive, equitable and quality education for all.
The opening marked an important step in advancing the EAC’s shared vision of using education as a driver of regional integration, economic development and improved opportunities for young people.
