The 20th round of the NCBA Golf series has attracted a total of 240 players who will take on the par-72 Muthaiga Golf Club this weekend.
Top five finishers will book a spot to play at the series finale, which is scheduled to be held next month in Karen.
So far, 90 golfers have booked their spots to play in the finale – among them three junior golfers who emerged overall winners of their respective clubs’ events of the Series.
Cumulatively, 2596 golfers have taken part in the Series since its inception in January 2021, pointing to the remarkable success the tournament has made in its debut season.
Commenting on the Muthaiga leg of the Series, NCBA Group Managing Director, John Gachora said:
“Muthaiga prides itself as the home of golf owing to its history with the game in the country. We are pleased to finally have our Series sharing in the rich history of the Club this weekend and look forward to more junior golfers emerging winners at the course.
“We are almost coming to the tail end of the Series which has been a great achievement for us. We will look forward to the last cohort booking their slots in the grand finale. This being the 20th event in the Series, it means we only have two more tournaments remaining. We look forward to heightened competition on the course as golfers compete for the last slots available to play at the finale.”
This month, the Series will feature a triple-header at Muthaiga, Kericho and Ruiru golf clubs before shifting to the grand final which will be played in the first week of December.
The top five winners – overall winner, men’s winner, men’s runner-up, lady winner and lady runner-up – from these events will book the final fifteen slots available for the grand finale.
