Kenya is this afternoon set to receive a donation of 990,990 doses of the Pfizer vaccine from the US government.
The consignment will be received by health chief administrative secretary Dr Mercy Mwangangi at the JKIA.
It is part of the 4.8 million coronavirus vaccine doses that the United States is donating to Kenya, Chad, Egypt and Gabon.
The arrival of the vaccines will complement efforts by the government to reach its target of vaccinating at least 10 million citizens by December this year.
The United States has also announced that it would allow the African Union to purchase 33 million doses of the two-shot Moderna vaccine that were originally intended for the United States.
