The PS, who is leading a delegation from the National Labour Board (NLB), convened with the CCMA Governing Body Chairperson, Prof. Enos Ngutshane and CCMA Acting Director, Mr. Xolani Nduna to gain insights into the Labour administration system in South Africa.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social protection, the visit by the delegation aims to promote labour market stability, social justice and job security in a bid to promote development.
“The CCMA shared how they appoint commissioners, training of its commissioners, Free charging for dispute resolution, matters relating to funding and other areas where Kenya can learn from,” a statement reads in part.
The delegation later met with the National Bargaining Council for Private Security Sector which plays a crucial role in negotiating collective agreements, resolving labor disputes, establishing benefit schemes, and advising on labor laws and policies within the private security industry.
The private security sector in South Africa is substantial, with approximately 10,000 registered companies employing around 2.7 million security officers.
