The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) has reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for justice, dignity, and accountable leadership in the country.

In a statement issued on May 6, 2026, at the YMCA Central , Nairobi Region Chairman Rev. Dr. Alphonse Kanga said the council will continue to play a leading role in promoting dialogue and holding leaders to account.

“The NCCK remains an unwavering advocate for a Kenya where justice flows like water. We will continue to provide safe spaces for dialogue and hold the prophetic mirror to our leaders until the dignity of every Kenyan is secured,” said Alphonse Kanga.

The remarks underscore the council’s long-standing role as a moral voice in national discourse, particularly on governance, human rights, and social justice issues.

Rev. Kanga emphasized the importance of inclusive dialogue in addressing the country’s challenges, noting that sustainable progress depends on leadership that is responsive to the needs and rights of all citizens.

The NCCK has historically been at the forefront of advocacy on democratic governance and social accountability, often calling for reforms aimed at strengthening institutions and safeguarding public welfare.

The latest statement signals the council’s intention to sustain pressure on leaders while fostering platforms that encourage constructive engagement across different sectors of society.
