The winners of this year’s Magical Golf Kenya Open will share a prize money of 226million shillings. Sports Cabinet secretary Amina Mohammed who launched the event presented a ksh.250M cheque urging the organizers not to relent in their pursuit of hosting a successful tournament.
‘’I am glad to report that preparations for the tournament are in the final stages. I have also received the assurance of the organisers that stringent measures have been put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the event,”Amina said.
The championship will be held at Muthaiga Golf club starting 3rd to 6th of March.
A total 156 golfers; 150 pros and 6 amateurs will feature in this year’s championship. Kenya will be represented by 8 pros and 6 amateurs in the 4 day event.
The winners of this year’s edition will share a whooping 226 million shillings.
‘’The event has now been changed from the European tour to DP world tour,so the DP World tour are the ones who have made the changes in the winners prize money’’, remarked Kenya Open Limited Chairman Peter Kanyago.
